JAE BAR LORETTO – 2023 Brown (Dark Bay) Mare – $6,500

So here’s the story on this little girl… Her dam, at the end of this pregnancy, was having some serious health issues and we could not keep weight on her.  We were actually pretty sure that she was no longer bred. But amazingly, after carrying for almost 14 months she had this little miracle baby! Loretto was born very tiny.  Sadly her mother died about a month after she was born. Of course we have done all we can to supplement and provide excellent feed and care for Loretto but, even though she is strong and healthy, it looks as though she will always be very small. She will probably be no bigger than pony sized.

Loretto is very sweet and would be the cutest little cowhorse for kids!

So….now you’re probably asking why is her name “Loretto” not “Loretta”??  Glad you asked. 🙂 Our theme for this year’s foals is “Santa Fe,” and in Santa Fe there is a very famous, very old chapel named “Loretto Chapel.”  It is famous for its miraculous staircase. (Google it if you have not heard about it.)  That’s where she get her name.

Loretto has one full sibling, a mare who is 2 years older, named Jae Bar Kentucky. She is currently in reining training and we’ve been told she’s doing awesome!
